ESIA – Emergency Debris Management Pilot Project in the Gaza Strip

Debris Management Programme in the Gaza Strip – Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA)

RAI Consult completed a comprehensive Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the Debris Management Programme in the Gaza Strip, implemented by UNDP with technical and advisory support from UNEP under the Debris Management Working Group (DWG). The assessment adopts a programme-based approach, providing an integrated environmental and social management framework for current and future debris management operations across the Gaza Strip. It evaluates baseline conditions, identifies environmental and social risks and impacts, develops mitigation and monitoring measures, and establishes a practical roadmap for safe, sustainable, and socially responsible debris removal, recycling, and reuse in support of humanitarian response, early recovery, and reconstruction.
