Mapping and Assessment of Existing Business Incubators and Accelerators in Gaza Strip
Oxfam, in partnership with SDC and Danida, implemented a four-year Integrated Market Development Program in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to enhance the agricultural sector’s potential for employment and income generation among small-scale producers (SSPs). The program aimed to facilitate systemic agricultural market development at both the sectoral and value chain levels, focusing on high-value vegetables (baby vegetables), high-value fruit trees (date palms), and dairy cow value chains, with food processing as a cross-cutting area. To support agricultural start-ups, the program sought to identify and collaborate with business incubators and accelerators in Gaza, fostering innovation and economic empowerment, particularly for women.
Scope of Work:
The consultant successfully mapped and assessed the business incubators and accelerators in Gaza, identifying six with high potential to support agri-businesses. A gap analysis was conducted to highlight weaknesses and areas for improvement in the recommended incubators. Based on the findings, a capacity development plan was developed, outlining priority activities. The project concluded with a set of recommendations for strengthening incubators’ roles in supporting agricultural start-ups.
